Tom Hanson is a versatile acoustic musician and songwriter from Rhode Island. His music blends the styles of James Taylor and Ed Sheeran, but also draws influence from Dave Matthews, Billy Joel, and Bruce Springsteen. Tom’s aim is to create a sound that rivals that of a full band from a single guitar. He combines traditional guitar playing with loops, percussion and elements of fingerstyle guitar to create a truly electrifying live show for his audience.

Blues legend, James Montgomery says “He’s one of the best acoustic players I’ve ever seen!”

Tom picked up guitar at the age of 12 and began writing songs at age 15. At the young age of 23, he’s already had the pleasure of playing in restaurants, bars, clubs, weddings, corporate events, arena VIP tents, and cruise ships.

In 2010, he teamed up with Al Gomes (Big Noise) and engineers Tony Ricci and Phil Greene to produce a self titled EP of covers and originals. The self titled EP made it to the nomination ballot for the 54th Annual Grammy Awards in the category of “Best Pop Vocal Album”. His original songs “Shadow By My Side” and “Fly Away” also made the nomination ballot for the categories “Song of the Year” and “Best Pop Solo Performance” that same year!

In December 2016, Tom released a five song EP of original music titled “Amphitheater” which included a rerecorded version of “Shadow By My Side”.

He is currently a guitarist and singer for The Sultans (Jerry Bennett Entertainment) as well as a guitar soloist for Carnival Cruise Line.

His EP “Amphitheater” is available on iTunes, CD Baby, Spotify and most other music streaming platforms.
